Job Description:

Requirements Assessment and Design

· During the Requirements Assessment and Design, Client will review the current GroupWise 6.5.4 implementation to acclimate to Customer's environment and to verify that the current system is operating without issue.

· Review the Customer's proposed design and plan for Conversion from NetWare 4.2 to SLES 9.

· Work with Customer to refine design and migration plan (wholesale move of GroupWise to SLES) to follow approved GroupWise guidelines and best practices.

· Work with Customer to design new GroupWise system.

· Define plan to move user mailboxes from existing post offices to new post offices based upon redesign.

Requirements Assessment Deliverables

· Report detailing items that must be repaired before proceeding with migration to SLES 9.

· Updated design and plan for migrating GroupWise 6.5.4 from NetWare 4.2 to SLES 9.

Lab

· The lab phase will consist of: Building a SLES Server, Install eDirectory 8.7.3.x, Install GW 7.0.1, Create Users, Migrate Primary Domain, Migrate Post Office, and Validate.

Lab Deliverables

· Refined and tested process to be used during the Pilot implementation.

Conversion to Linux and Upgrade to GroupWise 7

· Customer will create new eDirectory tree based upon eDirectory 8.7.3.x using the new server hardware running SLES 9 to host GroupWise.

· Customer will build all remaining servers in the GroupWise tree according to documented plan.

· Customer will create or replicate user accounts from existing NetWare 4.2 tree to new GroupWise tree (process by which this will occur will be determined during the Requirements Assessment Phase).

· Install GroupWise 7.0.1 on as many servers as necessary to support the Pilot.

· Pilot a small portion of the GroupWise system on SLES 9 (Primary Domain and an associated Post Office).

· Implement GroupWise Monitor, Implement GroupWise Messenger.

Conversion to Linux Deliverables

· Pilot implementation of selected GroupWise components running on SLES 9. Refined design documentation.
